“Education and Economy” working group.
About this event: International Student Week, Germany

I took part of the “Education and Economy” working group as I’m interested in the business aspect and its entire components. I really loved working within this group, a very friendly and open-minded atmosphere.

At first, we started with some childish games to integrate the group and to get to know each other: we played the elephant : ), the Titanic game : )…, we really had fun... Nevertheless, we had lots of serious discussions after then.

We pointed out several topics, that each of us has proposed, just like “Education in developing countries”, “The international trade”, “Education as a good preparation to enter the world of work”… Personally, I was amazed that, despite the economic and development differentials between countries, some problems were similar either in developing or developed countries. Actually, some hindrances to the educational system were remarkably common between Russia, China and some parts of Africa.

To put to advantage the different points we stressed during our working sessions, we got the chance to present the result of our discussions, so each participant was charged of presenting the different economic problems of his country and bringing and suggesting some solutions to overcome them, it was really interesting! Every one was freely speaking and this is what made our group work more successful.

Once upon a Time… An ISWI 2007…
About this event: International Student Week, Germany

Actually, the ISWI started since about two months!!!

It was one of the best experiences I have ever had… More than 350 students from universities around the world were there, representing about 67 countries.

Eight days were gone with a mixture of joy and tiredness! Either lecture sessions or group work at the beginning of the day, then, the afternoons were for parties and resting.

During the lecture sessions, we got the chance to meet scientists, professors, doctors, a Nobel Prize laureate, Human Right Award winners …, about 16 reputable speakers, who came, to share with us their experiences and knowledge.

I really appreciated taking part of this international program, I learned many things, about how do other “different” people deal with topics. I was, especially, interested in the International Brunch, it allows us discover other different cultures and identities though tasting typical foods from different countries, knowing about their traditional and typical clothes. It was a unique experience, practically, all the cultures of the globe, joined together in one meeting!!!

I really had a great time that I can’t forget…
